Cookie policy notice in compliance with regulation n. 229 of May 8, 2014

What is the cookie?

Cookies are small text files that the sites visited by users send to their terminals, where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the same sites on next visit. Cookies called “third-party” are, instead, set by a website different from the one that the user is visiting. This is because in each site can be present elements (images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages in other domains, etc. ) that reside on different servers from the one of the site visited.

What is cookie for?

Cookies are used for different purposes: execution of electronic authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information about specific configurations about users accessing servers, preference storage, etc…

There are several types of cookies:

Technical: They are cookies used to make possible browsing or providing a service requested by an user. They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed by the owner of the website.

Analytics: They are cookies used to create a statistical analysis of the navigation.

Profiling: They are cookies used for tracking the user’s navigation on the network and for creating profiles on his tastes, habits, choices, etc. With these cookies it’s possible to transmit advertising messages to the user’s terminal in line with its already expressed preferences browsing the web.

Session cookies: They expire and are deleted from the system once the session ended. (browser shut down).

Persistent cookies: They do not expire once the session is closed but they last for a long period (months, years) and allow the website to recognize the user and his tastes automatically.

Who sets the cookies?

Cookies might be first-party, when they are set by the website itself, or third-party cookies, when they are set by a website other than the one you are currently on. For third-party cookies is up to their owners to get the consent to use and give a chance to not install and / or delete, while the owner of the site remains the responsibility to inform the user about third-party cookies presence.
